If you have a look at the swiss topology, you will certainly agree, Switzerland is the perfect place for seaplane operations. We have numerous large lakes located in the Swiss Plateau and Central Switzerland, and even two small “oceans” in the north-east and south-west.
Unfortunately today there is few to no seaplane operation in Switzerland and surrounding countries. Just a few places can be flown into using floats. But there is Como, Italy where half a dozen seaplanes are based and the lake can be used permantently.
Betrachtet man eine Schweizer Landkarte, wird man sofort feststellen, dass wir das geeignete Land wären für die Wasserfliegerei. Haben wir doch zahlreiche grosse Seen im Mittelland und in der Zentralschweiz, und in der Ost– und Westschweiz sogar ein «kleines Meer».
Doch leider ist die Wasserfliegerei heute in der Schweiz und in den Nachbarländern praktisch inexistent. Nur nochwenige Plätze dürfen nach viel administrativem Aufwand auf «Floats» angeflogen werden. Eine grosse löbliche Ausnahme bildet dazu die grenznahe Seaplane-Base in Como. Dort sind ein halbes Dutzend Wasserflugzeugestationiert, und auswärtige Seaplanes dürfen hier vor der Stadt, sowie an einigen andere Landeplätzen in Norditalien,auf dem Wasser «landen».
Si l’on regarde la topologie de la Suisse, on constate immédiatement que ce pays est propice pour l’activité des hydravions. En effet, nous possédons de nombreux grands lacs situés sur le Plateau ou en Suisse centrale et même 2 “petits océans” dans le nord-est et sud-ouest.
Malheureusement aujourd’hui les hydravions ne sont que peu ou quasi inexistants en Suisse et dans les pays avoisinants. Seuls quelques rares endroits, après beaucoup d’effort administratif, peuvent être autorisés pour les «flotteurs». Tout proche de chez nous une grande exception est l’hydrobase de Côme en Italie. Elle exploite une douzaine d’hydravions basés sur le lac de Côme
qui peut être utilisé en permanence.
